Homemade Shrinky Dink Charms

1/29/2013

This is a project I have been wanting to do with my kids for awhile now. I am all about finding new ways to use things, instead of just throwing it out. It was harder than I thought it would be to find #6 plastics. We did have one from our gluten free graham crackers, which made a lot of nice charms.
We cut out shapes and colored them with  permanent markers.
Make sure to hole punched them if you will be making them into charms.

Line a cookie sheet with parchement paper. Place into oven heated to 350 F.
After 1 minute they will have curled up a bit. After 2-3 minutes they will uncurl and have shrunk all they can. They are now done. Let cool.

Look at how nice they turned out. The kids had so much fun making them! Can you see the love in the picture below? So neat!! And how much the heart shrunk :)

Than add them to a bracelet or necklace.

Have fun and please share some pictures of the shrinky dinks you make.
